We're Attracting the Vampires

I think the Maryland towns by D.C. and the District itself are gonna be a breeding ground for the vampires. Yes. TrueBlood and the Twilight Series have finally gotten to my brain. But really, all this rain! All the time! Sexy Vampires better come on over!
Anyways, another update post. Other than the 'constant cover of rain' (there I go quoting Twilight) - I do like the rain - my eldest sister and I recently saw RENT in D.C. with the original broadway/movie actors of Roger and Mark: Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp!!! Needless to say, it was AMAZING. Go read the review in today's (May 29th) Style section of the Washington Post.
I think the rain is really a good time to listen to music. You have the ambient noise the rain makes and then your favorite Jack's Mannequin or Journey song playing in the background. What could go wrong?
Two days left of school!! Three exams left!! Two on Monday, one on Tuesday and then FINALLY! Summer time!
Yes I am excited.

.no day but today.

Just listening to music. Haven't posted in a while actually. Kinda sad I guess. Freshman year is winding down, next week is my last week and then I have exams.
So basically this is just an update post - I promise I will write more when I have the time!!

Much Needed Post

I decided to write a poem-

dreams are un-born wishes.
wishes are un-born actions.
actions are un-born people.
people are born.

your mind may speak differently.
but your heart will tell you what is true.

defy logic with emotions.
bind emotions with logic.

go with the flow.
be the rock within the river.
that breaks the waters flow.

step above what is expected.
of you to shock the world.

sing what you feel.
write what you feel.
draw what you feel.
art is based on.
what you feel.

love to live.
live to love.
don't take shit.
from anyone.

above all.
believe in yourself.
and in your most trusted.
and most loved.

Footloose

It's been a while.
Mom has arrived home from visiting Bridgey in Italy from February 26 through March 2. She had a lot of fun, but upon her arrival she has had a fever and today she stayed in bed.
If you are reading this Bridget- thank you so much for the gorgeous Italian skinny jeans... they fit!!

Anywho, the third quarter is going to end of March 13th, that's a Friday... AHH!
Miley-cat just broke a plate so there was some delay in my posting. Ooh! Three weeks ago I went to see some of my friends in their high school's production of Footloose!
It was awesome!

Composing, Apologies, Sickness, Dissapointment, Valentines

So, I haven't actually posted anything in a long while, not since January anyways. I decided that much is needed to be said so here goes:

Reviving Ophelia, Friday the 13th at 7:30 - Opening Night, we're all excited! Too bad I was sick in bed with a fever all day. I couldn't even star in the show that I had been working on since sometime in December. I was extremely angry about not being able to perform. There were only two nights that we would perform, Friday and Valentines' Day. Unfortunately I couldn't do the second performance either. But I was well enough to be some fun extra parts, like a First Grader and a Party Guest!

I really miss my sister Bridgey because she is awesome and she is Italy. My mom is going to visit her in Italy in March sometime and what really irks me is that I just discovered that I have off school the days that she is going. Grrr.

Anywhoo. Happy Be-Lated Valentines Day! I did nothing this Valentines Day but sit on the couch and try to get better. Later that night I managed to do the little extra roles in the play, but apart from that - I was sniffling and coughing and trying to recover. For this years' Valentines Day gifts, I am currently composing a piano piece for my friend Lexxy. It is going to be a little late since I started it on Thursday... But so far it's coming along nicely!

Peace, Love and Thanks for Reading!!

Two Things I Love About my Cats

1. Miley never holds grudges.
2. Zander is always loving.

Hmm, what do I mean by this?
Well, today is a good example for both of those things. First of all, Miley's wonderful trait:
Today, Miley decided to start chewing on my Dad's plants in the hallway and that is illegal for Miley! So I pull her away and tell her no. But moments later, she does it again. I pull her away again and hold her this time- telling her no but then, I lose my grip of her and she falls out of my arms in an awkward way. She landed on her paws - of course - but I still felt sorry, so I picked her up and brought her on my bed and she lay down & was purring in no time - proving her point that she doesn't hold grudges.
Which brings me to my second point, about Zander. I was playing with Miley and I decided to put her in the laundry basket that was by my bed. So I did and Zander was watching. I took her out after a little bit because I didn't think she really liked it in there. So I played with her on the bed for a little bit, but then I noticed something was in the laundry basket - it was Zander, looking absolutely cute in the laundry basket, impersonating Miley. I felt so bad that I hadn't been playing with him so I picked him up and they both purred together.

Yay!

The Inauguration!!

Hello!

So today I went to the Inauguration of the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack H. Obama!!
It was pretty amazing.
At 8 o'clock this morning me, my mother, my friend and her mother left my house on our bikes to arrive downtown around 9 o'clock and hand our bikes over to the WABA Bike Valet (thank you so much you amazing volunteers!!) So we bustled about to arrive on the Mall. We were positioned slightly behind and to the left of the Washington Monument and that's where we stood until we left. Our fifty people radius, our crowd, was the most amazing crowd to stand with!! I guess every single person there (except for the crazy religious people with the Trust Jesus signs) was amazing, however OUR crowd was hilarious!! There was a guy like a little ways away from our crowd who held up a bag. I said, "Put the bag down please!" Then a couple people around me started chanting, "Put the bag down! Put the bag down!" The entire group started chanting that, then finally he put it down. Another funny incident was when some random lady started waving this ginormous American flag with a unicorn on it and the word "Freedom" underneath. We all looked at each other and started chanting, "Put the flag down!" It was funny! Barack Obama's speech was inspiring to say the least. Aretha Franklin- amazing.
So after Obama was sworn in, everyone tried to get out at the same time- resulting in a human deadlock. We stood for about an hour enclosed by more people and Port-a-Potties. After a little bit a random guy with blue skinny jeans decided to jump up onto the Port-a-Johns! (Kudos to you Skinny J. Guy!) A few more people jumped up after him and the rest of the crowd simply asked what they saw: "People, trees, ya' know." were their responses. So after an hour of standing and occasionally moving, we got out and onto the street where we were once more at a slightly moving standstill.

Yes, that was a ton of fun! Good luck Barack Obama!!

Much love, thanks for reading,

Gracie
